We all know how important it is to keep valuable equipment safe – especially when we use it every day. The story of one e-bike rental owner shows how modern technology can decide whether we get our equipment back or lose it for good. Thanks to the notiOne GPS Connect tracker, four stolen e-bikes were returned to their owner, and the whole operation ended in success!
How did it start?
At first everything went smoothly. The man who hired the four e-bikes seemed like an ordinary customer. However, the owner had some concerns about his behaviour and decided to rent out the bikes with notiOne GPS Connect trackers fitted. After a while, the owner decided to check where the bikes were.
What happened next?
When the bikes started heading towards the border, the owner – who had the full route in the app – immediately informed the police. Officers began checking CCTV footage along the road the bikes had travelled. Unfortunately, the moment the devices crossed the border, contact with the trackers was temporarily lost. When the person who had hired the bikes decided to check them in Romania, the tracker sent a signal showing that the bikes were on that country’s territory.
Thanks to the police having been notified in advance and the precise information provided by the notiOne app, the authorities were able to act quickly and efficiently. Recovering the bikes became possible almost immediately after the signal was received.
The result?
Thanks to the notiOne GPS Connect trackers, the bike rental owner recovered the stolen vehicles, worth PLN 52,000. The bikes, which had covered more than 804 km, were recovered thanks to the precise information provided by the tracker. In total, the device sent 400 location samples, giving full visibility of the route travelled.
