Valentine’s Day Gifts 2025: Ideas for Her and for Him + DIY

Updated: November 2025

Looking for Valentine’s Day gifts that don’t look like they came off “the first shelf you passed in the supermarket”? Good, because in 2025 people are still buying the classics, but there’s a growing expectation that a gift should be personal rather than random. According to a PMR Market Experts survey, Poles planned to spend an average of around PLN 250 on Valentine’s Day 2025, with the most common budgets being PLN 101–200 (32%) and up to PLN 100 (24%).
On top of that, in a PayPo survey 44% of respondents said they would buy their gift from an online shop.

The most popular gifts are:

  • sweets (42%),
  • a dinner together (38%),
  • cosmetics or perfume (21%),
  • and tech gadgets (12%), which have been gaining popularity for several years now.

If you’re typing “Valentine’s Day ideas for him” or “Valentine’s Day ideas for her” into a search engine, you usually want something that won’t end up as yet another gadget that’s forgotten after a week. That’s why below you’ll find suggestions that are practical, funny, and ones you can build a shared plan around (a date, a trip, an activity).

How much do Poles spend on Valentine’s Day?

Poles are increasingly keen to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but sensibly. The average gift budget in 2025 is PLN 150 to 250, and almost half of people opt for small but meaningful gifts such as an outing together, jewellery or tech gadgets. Ceneo Insights research shows that one in five people plans to buy their gift online, and the biggest growth is in the categories of technology, cosmetics and personalised accessories.

A Valentine’s Day gift isn’t as simple as it seems

The Valentine’s Day gifts on offer in supermarkets, smaller shops and other chains boil down to chocolates, wine, teddy bears, underwear, cushions or flowers. Tacky, isn’t it? We wouldn’t be happy to receive a gift like that ourselves, so we certainly wouldn’t dare to suggest it to you.

A Valentine’s Day gift should come from the heart and fit the person’s character, interests and lifestyle. So before you dash to the supermarket at the last minute and grab the last XXL beige teddy bear with a red heart that says “LOVE” for your other half, which will end with a grimace and an indifferent “thanks”, read our suggestions!

A Valentine’s Day gift for a gamer

The average budget for a gamer’s gift is PLN 100 to 500. If your partner can’t see beyond you and PC games (in no particular order), then know that the best gift for him is gaming gear. And here you have plenty to choose from. You could pick a super-sensitive mouse, a backlit keyboard, a top-notch mouse pad, a webcam or a good pair of headphones.

Beyond electronics, gamers love newly released games they haven’t finished yet and all kinds of merchandise related to their favourite characters. Before you go shopping for a game for your gamer, check whether their computer meets the requirements of the new game you’re planning to buy.

And if your boyfriend is more of a console type, think about buying a new controller or a console game he doesn’t have in his collection yet. Memory cards or a subscription to the Xbox or PlayStation platform are also a good idea.

Note! A gift for a gamer will go down just as well with a female gamer, so if your girlfriend is a gaming fan, the suggestions above will work as a Valentine’s Day gift for her.

A Valentine’s Day gift for a sports lover

According to Allegro data from 2024, sales of smartwatches and fitness bands rise around Valentine’s Day – they’re a popular gift in the PLN 200 to 600 range. Sports lovers will appreciate any sports-related accessories. You can choose between new gym or jogging clothes and various gadgets that let them track or organise their workouts. There are plenty of options, and a sporty Valentine’s Day gift is sure to please any active person.

If you’d like something more engaging, choose a pass for two for any sporting activity. It could be a Valentine’s outing to go ice skating or rollerblading, or even a weekend ski or snowboard trip. But you’ll need to confirm a planned getaway like that with your valentine in advance, to make sure they definitely have a free weekend.

A Valentine’s Day gift for a bookworm

This is probably the easiest task of all – pick a book they don’t have yet! Or perhaps you’re worried you don’t know every title on your bookworm’s overflowing shelves? In that case, a gift card for a set amount to your other half’s favourite bookshop will do the job perfectly. They’ll choose the book they want to read themselves, and you’ll be sure your gift hits the mark.

And if the book you’re looking for is an older edition, try browsing second-hand bookshops where you might find it, or look for it in various groups for book lovers. If you manage to track down a rare gem or the missing volume of a whole series, you’ll definitely win your valentine’s heart.

A Valentine’s Day gift for a coffee lover

The perfect choice is – you guessed it – coffee! But it can’t be just any coffee; ideally it should come from a small roastery where every step of the process is carried out with the greatest care. Online you’ll find plenty of interesting craft coffees that will win your valentine’s heart.

And if not coffee, then what? Brewing equipment is the best bet – a Chemex, a drip brewer, or maybe an AeroPress? If your coffee lover doesn’t have gear like this yet, trust us, they’ll be delighted to receive it. Especially since each brewing method brings out different flavour notes!

A Valentine’s Day gift – cosmetics

Cosmetics make a great Valentine’s Day gift, both for her and for him. If you know your valentine’s favourite scent, you can give them perfume, bath salts, lotions or bath sets. Even a man will be pleased with a practical gift such as his favourite fragrance.

You could also introduce your valentine to something new and pick a scent you’d like your other half to wear. That’s quite a risky gift, though, and you need at least some idea of which fragrance notes your valentine likes best. Poles spend an average of PLN 120–250 on Valentine’s cosmetics and perfume, with premium natural products and sets with personalised engraving being the most popular choices.

A superb Valentine’s Day gift: a spa visit

Now that’s a real treat! Ready-made spa vouchers are available in most beauty salons, as well as on popular deal websites. And if you really want to go all out, look for spa-for-two offers. Invitations like these are very popular around Valentine’s Day and we’re sure you’ll have no trouble finding one in your town. A spa trip for two is the perfect option! You’ll relax together with a massage, have a wonderful time, and to round off the day you can go for dinner at your favourite restaurant.

Treat your valentine to something delicious!

A gift doesn’t always have to be something you buy. You can simply invite your valentine to a romantic dinner at an elegant restaurant, where you’ll try delicious dishes you’ve never had before. A date like that is the perfect Valentine’s evening. Remember that you won’t be the only one to have this idea on the day of love, so book in advance – otherwise it may be too late and you won’t find a free table anywhere.

You could also cook dinner at home yourself. Make sure you create a pleasant atmosphere, set the table nicely and dress smartly. Prepare something delicious, and let it not be a pork chop with potatoes, even if you both like it. Don’t forget some gentle bubbles either – buy champagne or sparkling wine to underline the romantic mood of the dinner.

A Valentine’s Day gift for her

All women love beautiful things. You can give your valentine jewellery, lingerie or another item of clothing you’d like to see her in. You’re sure to make her happy, and she’ll be even more delighted with the gift if you tell her how beautiful she’ll look in it.

You can then whisk her off on a date to a cosy restaurant, the cinema or the theatre – but make a point of asking her to wear your Valentine’s gift.

A gift for him

A Valentine’s Day gift for your partner, boyfriend or husband could be a watch, cufflinks, a belt or an elegant tie. Let it be something you’d like to see him in and know he’ll happily wear.

You could also go for a funny Valentine’s gift – a T-shirt, underwear or silly socks will be a bullseye if you both appreciate a sense of humour. Designing a T-shirt or even underwear for your loved one yourself is a nice gesture too. He’ll surely be thrilled to see your photo on… his socks! As long as the gift comes with a dose of humour.

A Valentine’s Day date

As we mentioned earlier, a Valentine’s Day gift doesn’t have to be something you buy – it can be a date together. Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to try something new that you haven’t done before, or to repeat a favourite activity you don’t usually have time for. You could go to the cinema or the theatre, take a walk, go out for dinner, visit a museum, grab a coffee, or even go for a glass of wine at a restaurant. The most important thing is that you enjoy each other’s company and the time passes pleasantly.

A DIY Valentine’s Day gift

Got a knack for handicrafts? Use your talent and make your own gift. Choose an area you feel confident in, where you know that what you make looks good and will appeal to your valentine. You could make a candle, a bracelet or an album of photos of the two of you, record a dedicated video, or put together a home film marathon or an elegant dinner. If you’re googling “how to make a Valentine’s Day gift”, stick to the rule: one theme + one personal touch + simple execution.

And if you don’t have enough time to make a gift yourself, the internet can help. Online you’ll find all sorts of personalised gift generators that your valentine will love. Whether it’s an engraved bracelet, a T-shirt with a witty slogan or a canvas print – a gift like that is sure to be a hit.

Board games for couples

A board game on Valentine’s Day? Yes! Ideally one themed around the day of love. There are plenty of interesting games for married couples and partners on the market that let you get to know each other better or test how much you know about your other half. Games like these are also great entertainment for a few couples who can join you for a round.

Of course, there are also love games to choose from, but those are best played just the two of you – because who knows how the evening will end?

A photo shoot for couples

This is something you won’t forget for a long time, and on top of that you’ll be left with memories you can frame! A Valentine’s photo shoot for couples can be themed, portrait-style or even humorous.

Find a photographer in your town and ask about a couples’ photo shoot – they may have themes ready to go, or they’ll be open to your vision and together you’ll create something great. And the photos you’re left with will bring you joy for years to come!

A sweet Valentine’s Day gift

There’s nothing better for those with a sweet tooth than a sweet Valentine’s Day gift. It could be shop-bought chocolates, an invitation for coffee and a delicious dessert, or a home-made cake or cupcakes.

A sweet gift is also the perfect lifeline for anyone who forgot about Valentine’s Day and is looking for something at the last minute. Chocolates are good for everything, and you can always eat them together.

Valentine’s Day flowers for her are a must-have!

Show your loved one that you appreciate and love her. Shower her with flowers! Red roses are the most romantic flowers you can give your valentine. You could also use just rose petals, scattering them anywhere in the flat to spice up the atmosphere.

Your loved one doesn’t like cut flowers? Give her a beautiful potted plant – orchids, fragrant gardenias, miniature roses and even exotic passion flowers all work brilliantly.

Valentine’s Day gifts come in every form and every price range. From little things like socks to luxuries like a weekend spa getaway. And if you don’t want to give something ordinary, give your loved one something you’ve made yourself. If you lack the talent, you can prepare coupons for any activity involving you, e.g. cuddles, a coffee invitation or a foot massage. The possibilities really are endless! Whether you choose a small token or a bigger surprise, Valentine’s Day gifts work best when they’re personal – and “Valentine’s Day for him” doesn’t have to mean yet another watch or pair of socks.
