Nothing makes us happier than your stories of finding lost or stolen items thanks to notiOne. In the case of vehicles, it has happened more than once that a police search uncovered a whole gang of thieves! So we’ve decided to launch a series on the blog in which we write down your stories and opinions. Today: vehicles recovered with notiOne.
Delivery vans, cars, bikes – all of these have been recovered with our help!
Bartek – a stolen car recovered
Imagine that, like every day, you get up first thing in the morning, get dressed, brush your teeth and head off to work. You leave the house, take out your car keys and go to open the door – only to realise it isn’t where you parked it. Vanished without a trace. That’s exactly what happened to Bartek. First thing in the morning, at around 5 a.m., thieves served him a huge dose of adrenaline.
8 hours later, Bartek checked the notiOne app. The location of the small tracker hidden in the car had updated! 20 km from his home, Bartek recovered his vehicle with the help of the police.
As he puts it: “despite searching, the thieves never worked out that this little key fob was your tracker” – indeed, we do look rather inconspicuous 😉
Paula – a recovered bike and a bike thieves’ hideout uncovered
This story surprised and delighted everyone at notiOne. It turned out that by discovering the location of Paula’s bike, we also exposed a whole organised gang of bike thieves. What gave us an extra “wow” was where the whole thing took place – read on.
Paula lives and works in Berlin. She cycles to work and parks her bike in front of the office building. Having learnt from experience (she’d already been robbed once), she made every effort to secure her bike properly. A chain and a notiOne tracker – that’s what Paula chose. Unfortunately, the mechanical lock didn’t stop the thieves, who cut through even that heavy metal protection.
A few days passed, during which Paula had already come to terms with the thought that she’d fallen victim to thieves once again. After a while, the notiOne app updated the location of the tracker on the unlucky bike. It had been transported from Berlin to Chojnice in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. After phone consultations with the police, officers checked the location shown in notiOne. There they found not only Paula’s bike, but dozens of others, probably also stolen in Germany!

We won’t lie – when we heard this story, we felt like heroes 🙂 The case was also covered by the Głos Wielkopolski newspaper.
Julia also told us about her recovered stolen bike – she too owes the return of her favourite ride to notiOne. Warm greetings to her!
A delivery van recovered after 1 day
Do you think a huge delivery van the size of a lorry can’t simply vanish without a trace? Well, nothing is impossible. That’s what happened to one of our users, who prefers to remain anonymous. The day after the theft, the app picked up a signal. The address was checked by the police – successfully – and the van was recovered by its owner.
